Gore Court 3 - 3 Ashford
Gore Court came back 3 times to draw 3-3 against a strong Ashford side who had a host of County players in their ranks.
Gore Court were under pressure right from the start but Ashford were unable to take any of their chances due to the outstanding George MacDonald who made a number of class saves throughout the match. However Gore Court had their own chances with Jack Pogson going close on a few occasions.
However the pressure tolled and Ashford took the lead from a smart short corner routine but Gore Court replied quickly with a drag-flick from Pogson. The second half started in the same fashion with Ashford playing attractive hockey but with Max Kemsely and Tom Fagg at the back they found it hard to break down the defence. Despite them going 2-1 ahead, Pogson again replied with a neat finish.
Marcus Undedown, Harry Stiles and Ed Bishop worked brilliantly as a unit in midfield to stem the flow of Ashford’s Kent contingent but unfortunately Ashford scored another short corner. Gore Court kept their heads up and in the dying minutes Pogson completed his hat-trick with a reverse stick finish from the top of the D.
It was a great performance from Gore Court who showed great determination to come back 3 times and all worked tirelessly until the final whistle.
