Back To Hockey

Gore Court Hockey Club are now offering any adults who used to play hockey “back in the day” the chance to carry on where they left off and get back into hockey.  Or even if you have never played hockey before and are just looking for somewhere to give it a try or are looking to raise your fitness levels in a fun and social environment then why not come along to one of our sessions.

Many of our players in the men’s and ladies’ teams have joined the club after seeing their children play and have picked up a stick on a Sunday morning to join in.  We are now able to offer a more structured way to ease your way into the game without the pressure of going straight into playing matches if that is your ultimate goal.

What will I need?

It would be advisable to have shin pads, preferably hockey shin pads as they offer more protection than football ones, and astro trainers or hockey shoes if possible as they provide more grip on the playing surface than normal running shoes (but no studded football boots), but as it will be a gentle start then normal trainers should be ok.  We can provide sticks so there is no need to go and buy a top of the range carbon stick just yet!

When does it start?

The Gore Court Hockey Club Back to Hockey sessions have now finished.

We will be running some more in the future so thank you to all of those who took part and also to those who helped out in either torrential rain or blistering heat!

How much does it cost?

The cost per session is £2.50 and the sessions are for those aged 18 and over.

You can email us at [email protected] if you wish or just turn up on the day.

Please visit our Facebook page here.

We hope to see you at one of our sessions soon.
