Welcome to the Junior Section
Junior training has now finished for the summer and will begin again in September.
The Junior Section at Gore Court Hockey Club consists of youngsters of all ages and abilities from 5 years up to eighteen years old. The junior training sessions are light hearted and fun all designed to help children learn the sport of hockey and become fitter without having to feel as though they have been pounding on a tread mill for hours.
We run sessions for two age groups on Sunday mornings at the Westlands School astroturf, the session for school years 7 and below from 9.30 until 10.30 and the later session from 10.30 to 12.00 for children in school years 8 and above.
We offer the children the opportunity to take part in league competitions against other Kent clubs and will be fielding teams this season in U12 and U14 competitions. Children are also able to take part in assessment to play at county level through the England Hockey pathway and we regularly have players playing for Kent at different age groups.
Our coaches are lead by Neil Wanstall and Harrison Reynolds, contact details below.
What Should I Bring?
Children should wear shinpads and long socks, a mouth guard and bring a bottle of water. Trainers should be worn, if possible astro style trainers are best to give more grip but not essential. We have plenty of sticks which can be used for the session so you don't have to buy one to take part.
So, give us a call on the numbers below and come along and start playing hockey and making new friends.
