Gore Court 1XI 4:1 Canterbury 4XI
Gore Court started slow and conceded a soft goal giving Canterbury a 1-0 very early lead.
Court came back fighting and took control of the game. Court equalised the score with a lovely touch from Zoe Hoare off Gaby Ollerenshaw’s short corner strike just before half time.
Court worked as a team and maintained pressure in the second half resulting in Chloe Williams scoring from open play giving Court the lead. Court continued to push forward and Ellie Walker was denied by a foot on the line at a short corner. Gaby Garton stepped up for the penalty flick and took Court 3-1 ahead.
Canterbury fought back into the game and had a good period of pressure but were unable to break the Court defence with goal keeper Shaz Pryce making some great saves.
Amelia Heather scored Court’s 4th and final goal from open play to make the final score 4-1 to Court.
Court travel away to Gillingham Anchorians next week where they hope to continue to build on a brilliant all-round performance by the team.
Man of the match – Erin Foot.
Gillingham Anchorians 0:2 Gore Court 1XI
GC worked hard leading to our first goal that was passed into the D by Amelia Heather and received and finished by Chloe Williams.. A quiet first half saw the score remain 1 up to GC at the half time whistle. Anchorians were quick to react in the second alf, but GC held a strong defence, including superb saves from goalie Shazza Pryce and line clearsance from Catherine Green. Gore Court’s second goal came from Tanya Williams passing it to Chloe Williams who managed to squeeze a shot from a tight angle, ending the game with a 2-0 win.
